What it means
A coffee made from multiple components — different origins, farms, processing styles, or varietals. Roasters blend to build a consistent house profile, maintain quality year-round, or create flavour that no single component could deliver alone. Blends are sometimes dismissed as inferior by default, but a great blend is one of the most deliberate products a roaster makes.

Single Origin
Then see how origin gets framed on the label.
When you see single origin, ask how specific the origin actually is.

Direct Trade
Then how the buying relationship gets built.
When you see direct trade on a bag, ask what the buyer is actually doing, not just what phrase they chose.

Micro Lots
Then how specificity gets sold.
Read microlots as more specific, not automatically better.
